This policy covers the NerfGuns.net Armory extension for Chrome. It does not cover the nerfguns.net website itself.
The short version: the extension exists to put an item on your own wish list. It does not collect anything about you, it does not track you, and it talks to one website, which is ours.
Where the extension runs
The extension runs automatically on product pages at five shops only:
- amazon.com
- walmart.com
- target.com
- bestbuy.com
- hasbropulse.com
On those product pages it reads the page in order to place an “Add to Wish List” button next to the price, and for no other reason.
It does not run on those shops’ other pages. It does not run on your orders, your account, your saved addresses, your payment settings, or search results. It does not run on any other website.
Everywhere else, nothing happens at all unless you click the extension’s toolbar icon or use its right-click menu, which tells the browser to let it read that one page, once.
What is sent, and when
Nothing is sent until you click. Placing the button on a page sends nothing anywhere.
When you click the button and confirm, the extension sends the following to your own wish list on nerfguns.net:
- the product name shown on the page
- the address of the product page
- the address of the product picture
- the note you typed, if you typed one
- the priority you chose, if you chose one
- four yes or no values describing how much product information the shop’s page
published, which helps us spot items whose name came out wrong
That is the complete list. It goes to nerfguns.net and nowhere else. There is no other server, no analytics service, and no third party of any kind.
Amazon addresses are stripped down to the bare product code before they are sent, so no other website’s referral tag can be carried onto your list.
What is stored on your computer
The extension stores four things locally, in your browser:
- the access token you pasted in, so it knows which list is yours
- the website address it talks to
- the names of your own lists, so the panel opens without waiting
- the priority you chose last, so it can be the default next time
Your token is stored on that computer only. It is not synced to a Google account. You can remove it at any time from the extension’s options screen, and you can invalidate it from your wish list’s edit page, which immediately stops any copy of it from working.
What is never collected
- No browsing history
- No record of pages you visited
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics
- No advertising identifiers
- No location data
- No personal or financial information
Selling or sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties. There is no third party involved in the extension at all.
Notes on your wish list
A note you add is shown on your wish list page, which is a public page. Notes are automatically stripped of web addresses, email addresses and phone numbers before they are saved, because that page can be read by anyone with the link. The extension shows you the note exactly as it was saved, so you can see if anything was removed.
Children
The extension is a tool for the person managing a wish list, which is expected to be a parent or an adult relative. It collects nothing about anybody, of any age.
Removing everything
Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored on your computer. To invalidate the token as well, open your wish list’s edit page and create a new one, which retires the old one immediately. To remove the list itself, contact us at the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
