Crossbows aren’t just for guys. The Nerf Rebelle Crossbow, a six-shooting crossbow from Nerf’s upcoming Nerf Rebelle line, is a dangerous pink-and-purple weapon made especially for girls. With its curved lines and feminine design aesthetic, it’s as deadly as it is beautiful, and thanks to its high-tech mobile app integration, it’s already creating a buzz.

Unlike the Nerf Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow, another weapon in the Nerf Rebelle line, the Nerf Rebelle Crossbow can hold up to six darts. It is similar to the recently released Nerf Strongarm, a blaster featuring a six-dart rotating barrel, and the original Nerf Crossbow. The Nerf Rebelle Crossbow is made with tough, durable plastic, and due to the heft of the weapon, darts can be aimed with precision at the unlucky passerby. The crossbow features an integrated shoulder stock for added comfort.[easyazon_block add_to_cart=”default” align=”right” asin=”B00CS0F0KA” cloaking=”default” layout=”left” localization=”default” locale=”US” nofollow=”default” new_window=”default” tag=”126p86-20″]

Unlike the Nerf Rebelle Heartbroker Bow, which uses strings, the Nerf Rebelle Crossbow fires more like a blaster gun. Once the crossbow’s arms are pulled back, the trigger is primed to fire. Darts load into a rotating barrel at the front of the crossbow and can fly up to 75 feet. They eject from the barrel one by one–unless you use a little pump action and slam fire the crossbow, in which case darts will fire more rapidly.

Priced at a projected $24.99, the Nerf Rebelle Crossbow is a mid-price blaster. When the original Nerf Crossbow was released in 1995, it had a similar price tag. It is more than twice as expensive than the similar Nerf Strongbow. One interesting feature of the Nerf Rebelle Crossbow is its social gaming integration. Mobile phones can be placed in a cradle at the top of the crossbow, and the crossbow will then integrate with a game called Mission Central App. This app not only features single-player shooting games; it also rewards social play and allows for shooter teams to unlock special achievements.

Add-ons for the Nerf Rebelle Crossbow include dart refills and an arrow holster, the latter of which includes ten additional darts. The darts are collectible and patterned, their design in theme with the Nerf Rebelle Crossbow’s girly hues.
