Light up the Night With The Firefly REV-8

With the Firefly REV-8 you can turn any dark house into a Nerfing battleground.  Sure, Nerfing during the day is fun, but there's something about playing in the dark.  Perhaps its the deadly silent sneak attacks, or the false sense of security darkness can provide and take away in only an instant.

With a Nerf Firefly any room, house, basement or outside terrain, can become a menacing display of glowing darts flying through the air, almost as if it were a July summer night littered with fireflies.

Features of the Firefly

Featuring an 8 round rotating barrel and an extra area on the stock to stuff away 4 more rounds, the Firefly can carry up to 12 Nerf dart.  Every time the trigger is pulled a glow light around the barrel fires off in a quick burst to illuminate each dart giving it a tracer-like effect as it flies through the air.

One things for sure... nighttime capture the flag will NEVER be the same.

Nerf Firefly For Sale

Bring the night to life with a Firefly - the ultimate Nerf gun for night play.

Additional Details: Requires 2 AA batteries to power the glow light

Overall I am pretty happy with the amount of ammo the firefly can hold. Having the 8 extra mounts for darts in the stock is pretty cool. The overall feel and balance of the firefly is nice too. Other things I liked was the speed of cocking and shooting, the rotating barrel, and the range was decent too.

Things I didn’t like was that it came with glow tape that supposedly goes on the darts to make them glow in the dark… only thing is the tape doesn’t stick very well to the darts and tends to make the dart too big to fit in the chamber. I wasn’t too happy with this, I mean… why didn’t they just make the foam on the dart glow in the dark? The other thing I didn’t like is the light in the barrel only flashes every couple pulls of the trigger, it’d be much cooler if it went off every pull.

Overall it is a decent nerf gun because its easy to shoot, can shoot fast, and can carry up to 16 darts.

Its been out for a while so it should be available at your local toy store. I know other models are being sold in singapore, but not 100% sure about the Firefly yet.

I agree with Reed, the darts themselves should glow in the dark, I’m sure they have the technology, but it may cost a bit more and not have as many buyers. Additionally, the Nerf company has already made it and are focusing on new guns and probably won’t change the darts soon. Finally, the flash is like in a camera and may take a couple of seconds to charge. You simply don’t let the flash charge before you fire.

ive modded every single one of my guns, and this, by far is the weakest of one

i hate using this since it gets absolutely nothing done in wars and it has god awful range even when modded

actually agrx if you add the streme line darts wich are the one the longshot brings it might work better. ive seen a guy on you tube and hedid a rang test with the reguler darts and the stremeline darts the streme line darts are better but they might get jamed

well your welcome for th tip

Ireckon this has a 49/51% chance of getting jammed with streamline darts

it has a nice fast cocking handle, but i wish the cocking handle was located in front and underneath the gun ytou you can cock it like a shot gun

other than range issues, it is okay

    decent gun.
Fastest top cock of any nerf gun. Awesome light. well ballanced and easy to shoulder. Inaccurate, darts tend to continue left as they leave the barrel when rapid firing. Advanced mod heaven, but frustating. Slow to completely reload.

    Recommended mods:
    remove air restrictor
    (super advanced)
Larger air chamber (requires reworking linkages and for serious increases in chamber size, cutting the casing and then resealing
Retunning the light to fire every pull (requires knowlege of electronics at a high level and specialized tools)

    Personal mods:
    All of the above

Commented on August 20th, 2010 at 9:29 pm.

i would rate it about a 3.5 star. its range and accuracy is pretty good. its also fairly easy to reload. it only uses a small variety of darts, so its hard to find extra ammo in a war. it can shoot pretty fast, too. it seems to work best with the buzzbee darts. its also a fairly common dart gun. i personally think this gun is overpriced at most stores, though.

  27. Australian dude:

Commented on November 9th, 2010 at 9:37 pm.

it is a secret weapon with a 24 shot clip. It has a range of 100 feet and a scope with 4X optical zoom. look out for it in 2013. A year after the world ends.

  28. NERFen Sniper:

Commented on November 10th, 2010 at 4:02 am.

no. 1: 2012 is not the year of The Apocalypse. I do not belive in the world falling into peices, though I belive in the polar ice caps flipping and the earth being swallowed by the sun. Next Ice Age in a couple thousand years. DOOM in about 2.7 trillion years.

2: That gun does not yet exist, though I believe it may in a couple years, though it may only be released when I hit my twenties, and I’m 11.

3: My B-day is the day after this post, So I can say I’m 12 lol O_o

Australian dude is lying about the 2013 part, but some of my friends told me this is coming out in 2012. It only has a 50 foot range and a 2X optical scope. It is the upgraded nerf sniper rifle and looks like the longshot and longstrike combined.

  30. sharko 2100:

Commented on November 11th, 2010 at 10:01 pm.

Your friends lied it only has a 40 foot range, it uses a direct plunger system.

okay, so it is coming out in 2012 has 2X optical zoom and a range of 40 feet. That is all true. I actually know the guy who designed and am wondering how nerf assasin’s friends found out about this gun.

You see that lil orange thingy on the front of the gun that covers the bottom barrel? That’s the reason any dart would get jammed in this gun. Once you remove the pointless orange thingy, this gun accepts any darts without issue and has 0% chance of jam.

shut up about the “jamled cs- 24″. onto the firefly, i find it very comfortable, i am 13 and it is one of the most comfortable guns i have. i can shoot it very for with te fast cocking mech and i find it very accurate and has decent ranges, good enough for an indoor battles that i do, it can easily beat my mate if he has 2 mavericks and i have the firefly with 4 darts in the stock.

I need some help. I have a blue firefly I got 3-4 years ago and I’m trying to remove the case. However, the back part of the firefly won’t pry apart so I can’t get the case off. I think something’s stuck in the top left corner but I’m not sure. What should I do with it? And I did remove all the screws. Any tips would be appreciated.
