Stampede Mods
Kids all over the world are raving these days over the Nerf Stampede. All over the world, the Stampede has been hailed as the Nerf gun of the future. With so many intriguing features and accessories, it's easy to see why. The Nerf Stampede boasts the claim to being the first ever fully-automatic Nerf gun. Additionally, the gun is accompanied by a pop-out bi-pod, which can be used to grip the gun or set it up to shoot it over fences, shrubs and more. The gun arrives in the box with three 18-dart clips, and you'll understand quickly that this is a gun to be reckoned with.
Even if you made no changes to it, the Stampede would be a formidable Nerf weapon. There are a few modifications that will make the gun even more effective. The first and easiest modification to make to the Nerf Stampede is to take out the air restriction. Unscrew the screws and then take off the outer casing of the gun. Then, take apart the plunger mechanism as well as the plunger rod from the casing where it is held. With a screwdriver and a hammer, very carefully knock out the air restrictions from both ends of the gun, including the bolt and plunger. Once it is gone, all you have to do is reassemble the gun and it will have increased range and velocity.
Another common and simple modification is to seal up the plunger rod air release. If you can use epoxy or super glue to seal the air holes, the gun will have an air-tight quality, and it will harness more of the air behind the darts as you shoot them. The two air release holes on the tip of the plunger rod cause air to flow out of the gun. If you glued those two holes and sealed them, your gun could increase in range up to 10 feet, in addition to the previous modification, which would also increase the distance of shots another 10 feet.
You could easily add up to 20 feet of distance and some impressive velocity to the Nerf Stampede. The gun is already one of the best Nerf products available upon purchase, but these tweaks will make your gun one of the biggest and scariest around. Be careful not to damage or destroy your blaster while making the modifications. They are safe and easy, so take your time.
