Reactor Mods

One of the most widely-enjoyed Nerf guns ever to be created is the Nerf Reactor. Playtime has never been more fun with the release of the awesome new Nerf gun called the Reactor. The special features of the Reactor are quite impressive, including pump and pull action, a fun, see-through barrel, a comfortable hand grip, and a sophisticated launching system that allows the balls to travel good distances. The Nerf Reactor comes with 4 balls, and it will be ready to shoot right out of the box. You can also modify the Reactor to perform even better.

If you take a piece of PVC and put it down the middle of the barrel of the Nerf Reactor, you can change it from a gun that shoots balls to a gun that shoots darts. The reason that this is a preferable modification is that the Reactor really isn't a special gun for shooting balls. If you've already used it, you know that it only shoots 6 to 10 feet. Compared to most of the Nerf guns out there today, that is a very short distance and simply unacceptable. When you turn it into a dart-shooter, the darts can travel up to 70 feet. Suddenly, the Reactor is a great gun now. No longer is it the near-useless ball-shooter than goes 6 feet.

There are no other mods that you could do to make the Reactor a worthwhile gun. The reason for that is because the gun has no air restrictions. That means there is no way for you to increase the range for its ability to shoot balls. The only way to make the Reactor into a respectable gun is to use the PVC down the middle of the barrel to change it into a dart gun. Any Nerf darts will be good in the improved Reactor. You'll be zipping darts across fields and yards with distances of up to 70 feet. This is a very simple mod that takes maybe 3 minutes at the most, but it's the only effective modification know for the Reactor.

The Nerf Reactor isn't the most impressive gun when you first start using it. If you are able to put the PVC into the barrel, though, you will have a suitable gun for Nerf contests and shooting games. The darts can travel good distances and they can pack a wallop when they hit a target.
